Feast of Trumpets Jesus Returns
Feast of Trumpets – Jesus Returns September 19, 2020
Feast of Trumpets: Jesus Christ returns to the earth as King and sets up His Kingdom by replacing every human government and 2nd: changes His bride at the twinkling of an eye to a Spirit Being at the sounding of a great trumpet blast.
Feast of Trumpets and New Year. Sound the Alarm, literally “day of shouting and blasting,” 2 different trumpets, 2 different celebrations on the same day.
Leviticus 25:9 Sound a horn {Shofar} on the tenth day of the seventh month of this fiftieth year. Likewise on the Day of Atonement sound the horn throughout your land.
The Shofar is mentioned seventy two times in the bible in various contexts and functions.
The Father will send His Son, Jesus the Lord, to the earth to save mankind from nuclear mass destruction, to end human misery and suffering, to usher in peace, happiness and joy for all mankind.
Jesus will rule over and judge all nations and will establish a New Civilization. That is what this day is all about, the salvation of all mankind.
Jesus allows individuals 6000 years to rule the earth based on the way and rulership of Satan and see what it is like. Jesus will end Satan rule when He returns to the earth and will begin 1000 years based on the Law of God to bring peace, happiness and prosperity to all. The world today sees the Law of God as Bad or the Words of the Bible not for them.
Now let’ look at the first of the Holy Days that come in the fall of the year. It is the Feast of Trumpets. It falls on a different day each year, usually in late September or the first part of October. The Feast would always fall on the first day of the seventh month, the month called Tishri.
Ezekiel 40:1 At the beginning of year 25 of our captivity, on the tenth day of the fourteenth year after the destruction of Jerusalem–on that very day–the LORD grabbed me by his hand and took me there.
We are not to be confused with Rosh HaShanna, the Civil New Year, occurring on the same day – Believe silver trumpets
Rosh Hashanah, literally meaning “head the year”, is the Jewish New Year.
Feast of Trumpets, Yom Terurah
Numbers 29:1 and in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work. For you it is a day of blowing the trumpets.
Leviticus 23:23-25 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, (24) “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a Sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. (25) You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.’ “
Nehemiah 8:2 So on the first day of the seventh month, Ezra the priest brought out the Law before the assembled people. Both men and women were in attendance, as well as all who could understand what they were hearing.
Convocation just means a “meeting” or “assembly.”
This feast uses an interesting symbol—the blowing of trumpets.
On this day, the high priest was to blow a trumpet. Not just an ordinary trumpet, but a special one made from a large ram’s horn.
It was called a shofar. You could not play a tune on it; all it could do was giving out one piercing blast.
Shofar: hollowed-out curved ram’s horn trumpet, signified a warning, an alarm of war
The shofar was used in ancient times to sound the alarm in case of war. The watchman would blow it to alert people if he saw an invading army approaching. But why did God have the shofar blown on the Day of Trumpets?
Both the ram’s horn and silver trumpets are blown on this day.
Contrast with the silver trumpets (on first day of the new year)
Numbers 10:2 “Make two silver trumpets for yourself; you shall make them of hammered work; you shall use them for calling the congregation and for directing the movement of the camps.
Psalms 98:6 With trumpets and the sound of a ram’s horn shout in the presence of the LORD, the king!
Last Trump, “Trumpet of God” when Jesus returns to the earth. Are the silver trumpets for calling His bride to the Wedding Supper and the ram’s horn call to battle the nations, on this day?
The New Testament clearly shows this is called the first resurrection, and we will be changed to a glorified spirit life, becoming spirit beings in the family of God with the blowing of a great trumpet.
Firstfruits harvested at the Last Trumpet.
The Feast of Trumpets pictures the time when Jesus Christ steps into our world and imposes His Kingdom in place of every human government. It also pictures the resurrection of what is called in the Bible the “dead in Christ”
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. (14) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. (15) For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. (16) For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. (17) Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. (18) Therefore comfort one another with these words.
This is an amazing miracle as Jesus Christ comes in the air (not to the surface of the earth), and with a commanding voice of an archangel and the trumpet of God the dead in Christ will arise from their graves. He then commands the dead saints to ARISE! At the same time to announce this resurrection the trumpet of God will sound.
At that instant the dead saints will be resurrected and receive their new immortal bodies in the twinkling of the eye. Then both the dead and alive in Christ will arise to the heavens to meet the Lord in the air.
Members of God’s Church, body who are still living and died when Christ returns will be changed on that day.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, (52) in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Matthew 24:31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Colossians 3:4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, and then you also will appear with him in glory.
John wrote Jesus is coming with the clouds and people will mourn
Revelation 1:7 “Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.
Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!“
Jesus return will not be welcomed by the armies and the leaders of this world. In fact, the coming of Christ is accompanied by a time of war. The “kingdom of the world” will not willingly yield to nor submit to Jesus Christ and Jesus will have to make war.
Revelation 11:18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth.”
Jesus will rule as the King of kings and Lord of Lords. Then those who have received God’s Holy Spirit during their lifetime will be resurrected to Spirit Beings and will inherit Christ world-ruling Kingdom and become priests and kings under our Elder Brother. Jesus Himself said, He would raise us, His followers, at this future time to Spirit Beings and be change to a glorified spirit life—becoming spirit beings in the family of God.
John 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
The Feast of Trumpets foreshadowed certain aspects of the ministry of Jesus Christ, one aspect is the blowing of trumpets to the future Day of Judgment.
Joel 2:1 Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the LORD is coming, For it is at hand:
The trumpet of God will sound as a warning of the coming day of judgment.
When the Shofar is blown, we know that Jesus is coming soon and this world will be judged as well as our enemy Satan and his demons.
Jesus our Lord will return to the earth, literally touching down on the Mount of Olives across from the Temple Mound in Jerusalem. He will instantly destroy all the armies gathered to fight at the Jezreel Valley in what is referred to as the “Battle of Armageddon.”
Zechariah 14:4 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south.
Zechariah 14:12 This is the plague with which the LORD will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. {rot – consumed away}
This is the reason Jesus robe is dipped in blood and wielding a sword will “strike the nations. {in this new valley}
Revelation 14:18-20 From the altar came another angel who had authority over fire. He called out in a loud voice to the angel who had the sharp sickle, “Swing your sharp sickle, and gather the bunches of grapes from the vine of the earth, because those grapes are ripe.”
(19) So the angel swung his sickle in the earth, gathered the grapes from the earth, and threw them into the great winepress of God’s wrath. (20) The wine press was trampled outside the city, and blood flowed from the wine press as high as a horse’s bridle for about 183 miles.
Revelation 19:13-15 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. (14) And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. (15) Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Isaiah 63:1-4 Who is this who comes from Edom, With dyed garments from Bozrah, This One who is glorious in His apparel, Traveling in the greatness of His strength?— “I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.” (2) Why is Your apparel red, And Your garments like one who treads in the winepress? (3) “I have trodden the winepress alone, And from the peoples no one was with Me. For I have trodden them in My anger, And trampled them in My fury; Their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, And I have stained all My robes. (4) For the day of vengeance is in My heart, And the year of My redeemed has come.
Bozrah in Hebrew; Petra in Greek: “Sheepfold.” A protected enclosure, with a narrow entrance. Place of Safety? Jesus goes here first, a side trip, before landing on the Mount of Olives.
Only one man has the power that is “mighty to save”: Jesus, the Messiah. “Day of Vengeance”
The kingdoms of the world are currently controlled by a powerful spirit being called Satan the devil, who has deceived this world for nearly 6000 years.
Satan has convinced individuals that God’s Way of Life is wrong and his way of death is right. The world will believe that Jesus is the enemy and they will fight against him. This evil being is the real power behind the scenes of all human folly.
2 Corinthians 4:4 In their case, the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe to keep them from seeing the light of the glorious gospel of the Messiah, who is the image of God.
Satan has blinded and deceived the world. This day pictures Jesus Christ returning as a conquering King to rule the earth in peace. Because of rebellion and it is ashamed, He will have to make war!
All of these purposes find their ultimate fulfillment in the New Testament teaching that Jesus Christ will return to earth as King and assemble His people, you and me, His Holy Saints, together at the sounding of a great trumpet blast.
The Feast of Trumpets gives us hope that Jesus will return and set all things the way it should be.
We are receiving a warning of impending national disaster through His Word, the Holy Scriptures and His ministers.
Ezekiel 33:6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’
Who is the watchman today?? I really do not know.
These two events: the return of Jesus Christ to rule the people of the earth and to the resurrected of those who have obeyed God (the first harvest), are what the Feast of Trumpets pictures. It looks forward to the beginning of the New World – the World Tomorrow!
We, as His Body and brothers of His, rejoice on the Feast of Trumpets because we look forward to the return of Jesus, the Messiah when we are changed to immortal.
Before the righteous reign of Jesus Christ can begin on this earth, Satan himself must be dealt with. This next step in God’s plan is told through the next High Day, the Day of Atonement. We will continue in 10 days.
